So Rich a Life
An Autobiography
Theosophical Society international lecturer, writer, world traveler, feminist icon.

Clara Codd (1876-1971) was a beloved Theosophical Society lecturer, writer, world traveler and feminist icon, who spent time in prison for advocating equal voting rights for women. Born in England, she joined the Theosophical Society in 1903, and was appointed the first National Lecturer of the English section in 1906. She eventually became one of the Theosophical Society’s most popular international lecturers, and gave talks and workshops on five continents. An able administrator, Ms. Codd also served as General Secretary (President) of the Theosophical Society in both Australia and South Africa.
Long out of print, So Rich a Life was first published in 1951 by the Institute for Theosophical Publicity in Pretoria, South Africa. This new edition is a faithful reproduction of Ms. Codd’s original work and offers fascinating observations of the many people and events that shaped the author’s long and exciting life. The book also includes more than 25 black and white photographs.
